The CWD Focus on Technology conference returned to California after a five-year hiatus - and it was glorious in all respects! The Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim served as home base for the weekend event, October 24-26, which drew several hundred participants largely from California and neighboring states. The weather was picture-perfect, and attendees large and small made the most of a conference schedule mix of educational sessions, indoor and outdoor meals, and afternoons free to explore the parks or enjoy the resort and some great CWD company.
Many thanks to our wonderful presenters and discussion facilitators - your expertise is unmatched, and you have a real talent with helping families and individuals with type 1 understand the most challenging concepts.
To the Youth Program staff - thank you for being so flexible right up to the very last minute. Each of you is so very talented, and you bring a lot of fun and great energy to a full weekend of learning for children of all ages.
To our wonderful sponsors: Lilly Diabetes, Tandem Diabetes Care, Dexcom, Inc., Animas, Roche, Medtronic Diabetes, Abbott Diabetes Care, and Novo Nordisk -- thanks for continuing to believe in CWD and for supporting our mission to reach ever more families with life-changing conferences. You make a difference.
To the Retinal Screening and TrialNet teams - simply Thank You. You guys rock.
To those behind the scenes - you work so tirelessly, with the goal of a seamless conference. Most people don't know how much elbow grease goes into a weekend event. And that's the beauty of it. You have our most humble thanks. Now, it's time to get started on next year!
