Young Adult programming this year begins with a Day at the Water Park on Tuesday, July 7. Meet Tuesday's Young Adult Coordinator, Marissa Hitchcock, inside the Pepper Market food court at 8:30 a.m. for a quick breakfast. Then everyone will board Disney Transportation for the water park of choice. Please make sure you bring money to purchase your water park entrance ticket as well as lunch and snacks. At 4:00-5:30 p.m., there will be a Young Adults Reception in the Durango Ballroom at the Coronado Springs Resort. Later in the evening in the Monterrey Ballroom, there is a Volunteers Reception from 7:00-8:30 for those who are working with the children's programs or volunteering in other ways at Friends for Life. There is also the International Reception from 7:00-9:00 in the Durango Ballroom for our international families and young adults.
On Wednesday, young adults working with the elementary program will have a meeting from 9-11 a.m. in Fiesta 7. There are also focus groups scheduled throughout the day at 9:00, 11:00, 1:00, and 3:00 - with dozens of topics to choose from. Many require pre-registration (which will be available online in May). Others are drop-in. Please take advantage of this great opportunity to see new products, give feedback about products in development, ask questions of industry leaders, and meet some very interesting presenters and discussion facilitators! Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. is the First Timers Reception in Fiesta 5 and 6 for those who are attending Friends for Life for the first time. In the evening from 6:00-9:00 p.m., we have a Grand Opening Ceremony and a wonderful reception with lots of food, celebrating the opening of the Exhibit Hall in Veracruz B and C.
On Thursday and Friday, there are sessions specifically for young adults offered in Fiesta 1 and 2. Please refer to the program for specifics. Note that many of the other sessions are appropriate for young adults as well, and you are most welcome to participate in those, too.
Friday evening, a Dinner and Salsa Dancing event for Young Adults will be held in the Monterrey Ballroom from 8:00 to midnight. Bring your dancing shoes!
Saturday is a designated 'park day' for the conference. Families and young adults are on their own to decide which park to visit. Please coordinate with others in your group. If you are participating in the Magical Memories Breakfast (tickets required), chartered bus transportation to Magic Kingdom is included. If you are not participating in the breakfast - or if you choose to visit a different park - you should use the Disney Transportation system. Buses run all day until park closing.
Sunday morning from 8:00-10:00 a.m. is the Farewell Breakfast. Bring your camera to take those last minute photos - and your phone to exchange numbers and email addresses!
