This quilt is to represent Richard, who is 10 years old and was diagnosed with diabetes in April 2002 (two months ago). Richard helped to make it by offering a lot of very useful and innovative ideas and was a keen participant from its birth to its completion. Although we are still so new in the diabetes world, we have met so many wonderful, helpful and compassionate people, here in South Africa and, with the help of the Internet, worldwide too. Although it is vitally important to pray every day for a cure, we must not forget to pray for the people who are diligently striving to find it, and ask God to give them the perseverance and wisdom to achieve this.
