Sarah Briscoe
Diagnosed February 20, 2008

Hi! My name is Sarah Briscoe. I was born on August 16, 1992. I was just diagnosed on February 20, 2008 with juvenile or type 1 diabetes. Everything on the quilt has some significant meaning and I will explain them all to you. The background is pink, my favorite color. The ties explain how tight my brother, sister, mom, dad, and I are. We share everything. Well, not everything but you know what I mean. The zig-zag stitching represents the highs and lows of my daily blood sugar. I included the soccer ball because soccer is my favorite sport. The flower represents my favorite flower, the daisy. Since I am from Illinois, I included the Illinois flag. GO ILLINI! I put a purse on the quilt because I love to shop. I also put a 4 leaf clover because I am in 4-H. The last thing I put was my favorite picture of me from my 8th grade Spring Fling. I would like to thank a family friend, Alice Childers, for helping me complete the quilt on time. I would also like to thank you for reading this and taking time to look at my quilt. I also want to thank everyone who has been working on the cure, doctors, scientists, and everyone who has made a donation. THANKS! They will find a cure with your help!
