Back to Charitable Contributions IBM ECCC 2009

Fellow IBM'ers/IBM Retirees & friends of IBM'ers/IBM Retirees....

The IBM 2009 Employee Charitable Contribution Campaign (ECCC) will start Monday October 5, 2009 and run through Friday October 23, 2009.

You may or may not know, my now 21 year old son, Zack, has Type 1 diabetes and was originally diagnosed when he was 1.5 years old.

Most IBM'ers/IBM retirees are not aware that they can direct their ECCC payroll deduction/contribution to a specific IBM approved ECCC eligible organization in any state.

I have been very active as a volunteer with the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation (DRIF) in Miami/Hollywood FL for over 19 years and have them listed as an approved IBM ECCC organization in the 2009 IBM ECCC campaign for organizations in the state of Florida.

The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation is:

Diabetes Research Institute Foundation
200 S. Park Road, Suite 100
Hollywood, FL 33021
IBM Charity Code: 0A196
Mission: To bring together leading scientists worldwide to develop
and rapidly apply promising research to treat and cure diabetes.

Any IBM'er/IBM retiree in any state can direct their payroll deduction/contribution to any IBM ECCC eligible listed organization in any other state. You don't have to direct your payroll deduction/contribution to an organization only in the state you currently reside.

To date, IBM'ers around the US and in South Florida have graciously contributed over $380,000. Read about it at (scroll down to middle of page) and I want to say THANK YOU!

In 2004, the IBM intranet did an article on the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation:
