From British Columbia, Canada:
I am a 36 year old type I diabetic and have a 8 year old daughter who was diagnosed 18 months ago. My question is, are they using acarbose with Type I, and if so are they having much success?
In theory, acarbose (Precose) could be used with Type 1 diabetes, as it retards the absorption of carbohydrates from the gastrointestinal tract to the bloodstream.
Several of my patients with Type 1 diabetes have tried acarbose, but no one seems very much convinced it's helped at all.
