From Houston, Texas, USA:

I have a nine year old grandson who has just been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. If he goes into a honeymoon period, is there any way of extending this period? The doctor has lowered his insulin amounts twice and says he can eat pretty much what he wants except for sugar added foods.

There is no specific way to extend the honeymoon period. Keeping good control and continuing insulin therapy may possibly help to prolong the honeymoon period.
