From Doncaster, South Yorkshire, UK:
I'm Type 1 diabetic aged 34 years. I've had diabetes for 7 years. Why does Glucagon have a such a short expiry date of 3 months?
In the USA, glucagon kits have a much longer expiration date. I usually tell my patients to check at the pharmacy that their new prescription doesn't expire too soon.
Additional Comments from Dr. Robertson (our representative on the Diabetes Team from the UK):Glucagen kits from Novo Nordisk usually have a shelf life of about 18 months at ambient temperature.
