I am 19 years old and have had Type 1 for 4 years. Why do girls with diabetes develop some degree of atherosclerosis in adulthood? (So that they are encouraged to have children relatively early, if they plan to do so.)

Not only the girls get atherosclerosis, but boys also. The important thing is to have good diabetes control.
