From Grove, Oklahoma, USA:
Is there any information regarding the relevance between taking glucosamine and elevated blood sugar level?
The nutraceutical that you mention has no place in the treatment of type 1 diabetes. In fact, they probably have never been tested in a valid scientific experiment to prove their benefits but this could only be ascertained by surveying the world medical literature. You would be wiser to do extra blood glucose tests each day to make sure that the day to day glucose control is as ideal as possible -- during this early honeymoon phase as well as later when his own insulin production decreases with more time and growth. None of these types of food supplements have any proven value except for the person selling them to you since they are so profitable.
