From Chicago, Illinois, USA:

My husband has had typeá1 diabetes for 11 years now. We are done having children. Are there risks associated with a vasectomy? He is on the insulin pump, his A1c is normal, and he is in good control.

The procedure is relatively minor in complexity and healing. As long as the sugars are well controlled going into and after the surgery, things should go similar to results of people having the procedure who do not have diabetes.
