Question: From Houston, Texas, USA: In a 40 year old woman, can diabetes give a positive hepatitis C result? Can diabetes raise your liver enzymes? Answer: I am not aware that diabetes causes a false positive test for hepatitis C. However, poorly controlled diabetes can be associated with elevated liver enzymes from fat deposition in the liver.
