From Dallas, Texas, USA:

My 15 year old niece was diagnosed with typeá2 diabetes, and she has had an ongoing kidney infection for two or three months. Is that a sign she will need dialysis?

Kidney infections are not likely related at all to future kidney failure and dialysis need vis-a-vis diabetes itself. Why is she having so many kidney infections is an important medical question separate from her having diabetes and should be asked quite specifically to her medical team.
