From McCordsville, Indiana, USA:

I was diagnosed with diabetic reacttive hypoglycemia when I was 30 (I am now 54). An acquaintance told me she has type 2 diabetes which is the same as hypoglycemia. Is that true?

Hypoglycemia simply means low blood sugar (from whatever reason). Typeá2 diabetes is an entirely separate disease. You can read more about both at: Diabetes Basics at this website.
