From Iran:

A friend of mine has type 1 diabetes. What is the relationship between type 1 diabetes and growth retardation or delayed maturity? How can I diagnose this?

Growth retardation has many causes to some extent depending on how long it has been present. Some delay in growth may occur in the last stages of preclinical diabetes and also later if the diabetes is not properly controlled. Your friend should be persuaded to see his/her doctor about this.
