Question:

From St. Louis, Missouri, USA:

Are there any trials being done on an implanted device that checks your blood sugar and delivers insulin?

Answer:

I am not aware of any trials of an implanted device that both measures glucose levels and delivers insulin.

Medtronic Diabetes (MiniMed) has an implanted insulin pump that is in use by a small number of people on an investigational basis, but this is not a glucose sensor.
