My name is Nicholas Light I am nine years old. When I was diagnosed with diabetes, I was a a little afraid but my parents helped me to feel secure. When I was in the hospital, I was kind of glad that I did not wait another day, because if I wouldn't of gone to the hospital for another week I would have gone into a coma, that was pretty scary!! My shots are not as bad as I thought they would be, but pricking myself has killed my fingers, and they are getting tougher and tougher everyday so it's hard to get blood. I hope I have all this figured out before spring when baseball and soccer start again. I am getting better at reading my body. I hope I get better to be able to catch my lows at 70's, my mom would really appreciate that.
If there is anyone out there around my age, that would like to chat with me and share stories about how you have put up with this, I have only met ONE person my age with diabetes my own age. I am a Christian and love baseball and soccer. My e-mail address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
