I'm Mallory. I have had Diabetes since 2/17/99. I had been wetting the bed constantly and drinking constantly. At the end of the day there would be 18 cups lying out. I was also losing lots of weight. I weighed 93 pounds! Then my weight dropped to 83 in 2 1/2 weeks.
I went to the doctor and my Mom told them about all the diabetes in my family. He said, "Let's check her." Then five hours later he checked my charts and we went down there because I wanted to know if I had it or not and unfortunately he said, "Mallory you know you have a serious type of disease and there is no cure for it." I remember those words just like yesterday.
Well, when my Mom was pregnant with her second child (My Brother) the doctor told her that if she had three kids one of them would have diabetes. Well, my Mom had a third child--it was me. Oh and guess who got diabetes ME! I always wonder all of the time and I'll never stop wondering why it had to be me! I cried and cried. My Dad put me down a little bit by telling me that I was eating too much sugar. My Mom told me that wasn't true.
Well, I play sports like softball and some soccer and when I play when I'm on the field I say TIME OUT I'm low. Then I drink a juice and some crackers and I'm pumped up as ever. I live in Mississippi and that's the number one state with Diabetes in it! That's bad!
I FINALLY got the Insulin Pump I LOVE it! It is like a blessing! I get to sleep later instead of getting up at 6:00 am! I have the Disetronic Htron plus Insulin pump! I wanted the Mini Med at first because of the way it looked but I think the Disetronic was better but that is your choice! If you want to know anything more about the pump e-mail me!
Well, hope you liked what I said! Please e-mail me if you want to do so. I have two e-mail addresses and they are Marshmallo143@aol.com and Marshmallo143@msn.com.
