My name is Kelsey. I am 10 years old. I was diagnosed with diabetes on February 1, 1996, right after my fourth birthday. I was in the hospital for 1 week.
I think Lantus is wonderful to be on. It is almost like the pump.
Make sure you check your blood sugars though at least 4-5 times a day. This way you can keep your blood sugar as close to normal as possible. Also you need to check your blood before any type of exercise.
Make an appointment with your dietician and go with your parent so you can understand how you can eat. Also, if you have the chance, go to a diabetes camp. It is great.
