Hi, my name is Lauren. I am nearly 9. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in November 2003.
I like dancing, riding my bike, chatting to my friends on MSN and playing with my rabbit, Molly.
I live in London, UK and I'm in year four at junior school.
I was very upset when I first found out I was diabetic and I was scared, but now I'm OK. I do my own prick tests and insulin injections, but sometimes I still get upset.
My doctors and nurses at our local hospital are very helpful and nice. The diabetic unit staff and parents help organise parties, days out and adventures for everyone at the unit. It's nice to meet up with the others and I have made a few new friends.
It would be great to get a penpal from CWD and it would be nice to hear from any of you to share experiences, thank you for reading my letter.
