Back to Kids' Voices Chelsea

Hi my name is Chelsea I am from Alberta, Canada. I am 12 years old and going into grade 8.

On October 21, 2002, I wasn't feeling very well so I stayed home from school and slept most of the day. The next day was October 22. I felt sicker, so my dad stayed home with me because my mom had to go to work. We decided to go to the medical center. I couldn't walk very good so my dad carried me inside. They said it was probably was the flu. Then we went home I went to lie down in my bed. I was unconscious. My dad phoned 911. I was in a diabetic coma. My mom just got home as the ambulance arrived. I don't remember this but my mom told me the sirens and flashing lights were on we went through red lights. We went to the University of Alberta hospital I was in a room with nurses on twenty four hour watch. The nurses were checking my blood levers and kept poking me with needles every fifteen minutes. My Grandma and Grandpa and Baba came to see me. I got to watch a lot of TV I had to stay home for a long time. I went back to school on November 5th. I take three needles a day I use the pens. I am hoping to go on the pump soon.

I like to play the piano and lesson to music and go on the computer and watch TV. I have four people in my family me my brother he is 15 years old and my mom and dad I have one pet rabbit his name is shadow he is grey.
