Finding the right diabetes team to care for your child or yourself is very important. Many factors come into play when choosing a health care team, including experience in the field, breadth and depth of the team, ease of getting an appointment, accessibility after hours, and the level of attention given to you when you're at an office visit.
While most people visit a diabetes team close to their home (0 - 25 miles), 30% of people said they travel over 50 miles to their team, and 8% travel more than 200 miles.
If your diabetes team isn't providing you with the kind of care you need, find out about other diabetes teams near you. You may find that another team offers just what you need.
