Ruby arrived today just when we were driving to school. There wasn't time to open her box until after school. Ruby came to watch me do swimming practice. She sat with my dad and waved from the balcony.
We admired all her badges from different parts of the world!

Today, Ruby came to school with me. First, she cam to English with me and she helped me do my blood sugar before break. Then, she came to math and now she knows what 6x6 is! After lunch, it was p.e., but Ruby couldn't come. Next, it was reading and I read to her. Then the bell rang and it was the end of school. After school, I took Ruby out on the green and showed her how to climb a tree. Then we spied on Alex and his friends. Then I tied Ruby to my skateboard and pulled her around.
After that, Ruby was tired, so we sat down and read her diary. After that, we went on my bike. Then we saw my sister Rebecca with Rufus, and we all went riding. Then we sat down and talked about boys! Then we went on a tour around the green.
Next, it was supper, and I shared some of if with Ruby. Then we went on the green and climbed a tree. We stayed out until 8:00 p.m. After that, it was time for bed, so I cuddled Ruby before I went to bed. Me and Ruby stayed up very late!

Ruby was jumping on me to wake me up. Becky was up, Ruby was jumping around at 6:30 a.m. Then it was time for breakfast, and I shared it with Ruby. Next, it was school, and Ruby helped me do my talk to the class.
After, we went to Balcarras School. We looked up on Diabetes UK to find information for my talk. Then, after lunch, it was games and we played kickball and Ruby sat by my diabetes box and waited on me.
Next, it was silent reading, but the bell went and we had to go. After school, me and Ruby went out on the green and watched Emily play her gameboy game. Then it was tea. After tea, we went out on the green and played games, but my mummy called me in for supper.
After, I went and played with Ruby and played the best game ever. It is called the guessing game. It was really fun. Next, my mum called me in because I had to practice my talk. At 9:00 p.m., I had to go to bed. So, I snuggled up with Ruby and went to sleep.

Ruby and me had lots of fun at school and we ran around. After school, we had lots of fun. Then we had to go to bed and we stayed up later!
July 12, 2003
Ruby and me went to town to buy some toys. Then we played with our friends until bedtime!
July 25-August 1, 2003
On July 25, we went to Center Parcs for a week. Me and Ruby looked around the villa. Then we went to the swimming pool, but Ruby couldn't come. Ruby stayed at the villa and looked around. She jumped on beds and had lots of fun. But the weeks went so fast and we had to send Ruby off.
p.s. to Eleanor - I hope you have a nice time with Ruby (from Sasha)!
Notes from Sasha's mom, Jackie Jacombs:
July 8, 2003
Ruby arrived at 8:30 a.m., just when the twins were setting off for school. So, Ruby had to wait until the twins came home at 3:30 p.m. to get out of her box.
Sasha and Beckie (Sasha's twin) were really pleased to see Ruby and loved all her badges. They looked back to see all the other pictures and photographs of the other children and places that Ruby had visited before.
Ruby was taken to watch Sasha and Beckie have their swimming lesson. She waved at the twins from the balcony and gave them encouragement.
July 10, 2003
Sasha had to give a talk to the class, lasting about 10 minutes. All the class had to give a talk about something. Sasha decided to give a talk about diabetes. Ruby helped Sasha to find items for the talk off the internet. Sasha used Ruby to explain about diabetes and where you have the injections and why you have to have them. The class was very impressed with Ruby and Sasha's knowledge.

We took Ruby away on holiday to Centre Parcs in Longleaf, England. Everyone had a good time, and Sasha explained all about diabetes to any new friends. When we went out for meals, we had to explain that the twins both have celiac, so have to eat a special diet. Ruby decided to eat gluten free food for the week.
There is a photo of Sasha taken by the local newspaper when they did an article on diabetes. Also a photo of Sasha and Beckie with some other Rufus and Ruby bears sent by Carol Cramer for the other children in our local diabetes group. Nearly all of the bears in the photo have gone off to other homes now to help other children.
Many thanks to Carol Cramer for all the pleasure that the bears have brought the children in the UK. Ruby will be sadly missed by all of our family, especially Sasha.
