The Heaton Family, Ann Arbor, Michigan
June 16, 2002
It's June 16th and we're going on a camping trip. I'm packing my things. Arrived at Ridge Ranch Campground in Lordstown, OH. Ruby and I are going to bed!
June 19, 2002
We arrived in Abingdon, Maryland, last night. It was a long drive, but we made it. Ruby was very good and quiet, and didn't complain. We colored and watched a movie and took a nap. We are parked facing the Chesapeake Bay. It is beautiful! Ruby and I have went fishing and caught a fish with my brother, Justin. Also, we went swimming. The water was cold! But refreshing!
June 20, 2002
We got up early and started fishing. No fish yet. We are camping in a 31' RV with mom (Elaine), dad (Jim) and brothers James (13) and Justin (10). On Friday, we will leave Maryland and head to Florida to meet Peyton and his family. We met them on the CWD website and have made friends! Then on to Disney and then our cruise. Julie and Ruby have been running low with so much activity.

We've had some very busy days. We left Maryland on June 21, heading towards Disney in Florida. We spent the first night in a truck stop in North Carolina. The traffic was terrible and we got very tired. Then we spent the second night at a KOA on the Florida-Georgia border. We have arrived at Disney! We will visit Magic Kingdom soon. We met Peyton and we had fun and played. And I sat next to him at dinner.

Have had a very suby time on the cruise ship, the Carnival Paradise. Ruby visited Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Ocho Rios, Jamaica. She bargained in Mexico, saw 650 lb turtles in Grand Cayman, and was passed around in Ocho Rios to all the friendly natives who wanted to keep her! She dressed for formal dinner twice and partied on deck drinking fruit punch and enjoyed the Jamaican band. She has had a great time but is looking forward to sleeping in the RV on the way back to Michigan. Those midnight buffets keep you going late! It is hard to keep your sugar in range with all this food! But, we are doing our best. It has been hard also to keep our medicines refrigerated. Need to put more thought into this next time or book a cabin with a refrigerator!
Our journey ended with a fast trip back to Michigan. The Heaton's will pack Ruby up and mail her to Laura B. Goodbye, we had a great time!
