Today, Rufus arrived at the Butler household - just in time too, as we are all off on holiday! The Butler's are: Jordan (7 yrs old, dx'd 4/02), Savannah (4 yrs old), Mom, Dad and 3 cats. Today we are off to the Pilansburg, a game reserve about 1 1/2 hours away from home. Unfortunately, because it is school holidays, Rufus won't be able to meet any of Jordan's school friends, but we'll make sure he has lots of fun whilst visiting us!

Today we woke up nice and early and drove around the game reserve. We were very lucky because we saw so many animals today: elephants, hippos, a leopard, baboons, rhinos and loads of other animals! We then took a drive through to Sun City. It's like a huge entertainment area, with hotels, pools, a lake, kiddies play area etc. We spent the day there, doing all sorts of amazing things, even riding a speedboat! Rufus stayed on land with Mom though, so we wouldn't lose him overboard. We then took a drive back to our cabin through the game reserve, and ended the day with a campfire.

Today we took a long drive around the park, and saw so many elephants! One young bull even tried a mock charge on us! After lunch we went to play putt-putt (miniature golf), and had a walk around the aviary.

Unfortunately today is home day. We packed up all our stuff and took one last drive around the game reserve. After unpacking everything at home we then went through to the doctor with Mom. She is having a baby in a few weeks, so we just needed to make sure everything is OK. We even got to see the baby on a funny computer screen. We don't know whether it is a boy or girl, but we do know it is big and healthy.

Today was a very busy day for Jordan and Rufus. We had 2 friends' birthdays! Firstly we went to Michael's party. Michael has been Jordan's best friend since they were 4 years old. His party was at a Lego place, where we built all sorts of fun Lego toys. We had to build Lego racing cars, and then we raced them afterwards! Mom had packed some special cake and sweets for Jordan, so even though he couldn't eat what the others did, he still ate like a piggy nonetheless! In the afternoon Jordan met up with Peter and his Mom, Jane, to go watch Spiderman. It's Peter's 8th birthday today, and his clever mom had packed some nice treats for them at the movies.

Today we all just spent the day at home relaxing. Mom and Dad are trying to get the baby's nursery ready, so we were painting and cleaning things.

Today we had a relaxing morning at home, and then went to visit friends of Mom's and Dad's to watch the World Cup Final. We made some new friends and had a very active afternoon. We collapsed in bed very early tonight!

Today we spent the whole day at home. It's winter time, so it was nice staying snuggled up at home. Our little friend, Ndomiso, came to visit us today. She's almost 2, and loves getting involved in everything we do! We were sad to see her go as we haven't seen her in such a long time. Her Mommy promised to bring her again on Friday.

Wow, what an exciting day we had today! The South African rugby team, the Springboks, were busy training at a school up the road from us. We decided to stop off and watch them for a while. Mom was feeling very brave, and decided to go talk to their manager. She told the manager all about Rufus, and asked whether the Springboks would mind having their photo taken with Jordan and Rufus. They were quite happy to, and afterwards wished Jordan and Rufus good luck. Jordan even got some of them to autograph his rugby ball!

Today we met up again with Michael, Jordan's best buddy and his family for a picnic. Another little friend was there, 'baby' Jordan, who fell head over heels in love with Rufus! We couldn't get her to let go of Rufus. We fed the ducks, and played in the lake with our boat. Rufus stayed dry, although the rest of us didn't!

Today is Rufus' last day with us. We have all grown very fond of him, and are going to miss him dearly. Thank you to Sam and the Billetdeaux family for such a wonderful idea!
