The Coetzer Family, Sunwitch Port, South Africa
December 6, 2002 through December 15, 2002
My name is Monique Coetzer. I am 10 years old. I was diagnosed two years ago.
Rufus arrived late on Friday afternoon the 6th of December 2002. I was so excited to meet him and really enjoyed the week we spent together.
Friday evening we played cards and guess what? He won!
On Saturday my Mom and I spent the day making clothes for Rufus.
On Sunday we spent the day on Uvongo Beach. Rufus and I both picked up a nice tan.
On Wednesday there was a competition on Margate Beach sponsored by Dexter. I entered the competition and Rufus and myself won a lot of prizes.
Thursday morning at 02H00 I woke up my Mom because I felt terrible. My sugar was 3.4 mmol/l (61 mg/dl). I had something to eat and not long after felt much better. Thursday afternoon my family and I left for Durban to enjoy a church function that will last for 3 days.
I am going to miss Rufus very much. I hope he can visit me again very soon.
I love you Rufus!
