Hi, I'm Ena-Marie and I was very excited when I got the call today to go and fetch little Rufus. When I got home, I immediately dressed him into a clean shirt, pants, scarf and his warm slippers. When we finished, I unfortunately had to go and do some homework, but Rufus was very glad to hear that he could go and rest for a while after the long day.
Well, as I finished my homework, I went to check on Rufus, and gossiped a little bit. I told him about my life, diabetes, friends, etc. I have been a diabetic for almost 5 years. I have coped very well so far, for landing up 6 times in the hospital! The problem was that my doctor prescribed too much insulin, and my sugar levels kept going low at night when I was asleep. But everything's fine now, and I have also lost about 7 kilograms in the past 6 months - I'm feeling great!!
It's still Tuesday, and I usually watch my favourite programmes; CSI Miami, Smallville, 24 etc. Rufus was very happy to watch some TV tonight, and when we finished, we were very tired, and we immediately went to sleep.

Well, it's a new day. When Rufus and I woke up we dressed. I put his nice army pants and warm scarf on for him. He said, "Thanx - I like these pants by far the most!" I had to go to school, but Rufus had plenty to do around the house, and he said that he can cope on his own for a few hours. When I came home I immediately started with my homework. Rufus helped me and when w finished it was already 16.30. We just couldn't believe it, but we got up to go and watch some television.

We went to Tyger Valley today and Rufus was very happy to see al the different shops. When we got home we were very tired and quickly had a nap. When we woke up I made the two of us something to eat. Both of us enjoyed it!
19 & 20 September 2003
Rufus and I rented some movies, played a few games, did some exercise and just enjoyed ourselves.
21 September 2003
Our family went to church, but Rufus unfortunately wanted to stay at home. When we came back we had a "braai" and had to make sure that we didn't go "over board"! Our blood sugar levels were very good!
22 to 24 September 2003
Rufus and I have been up to a few things. We had to go to school, since it's not vacation yet! We went for walks to get the sugar levels down and we got to know each other better.
P.S. It was hard to say goodbye, but it's time. Good luck Rufus, and I'll miss you very much.
Loves and kisses,
