Today Rufus came in a colorfully decorated box! Myles said he wanted to sleep with him tonight. I changed my site today. At school i was 50 and felt pretty low. Well, now i am going to do my homework... Rufus will watch, then later he will go to bed.

Today Rufus had a quiet day followed by an exciting evening. We all went on a very spooky haunted hayride at a nearby farm. Rufus was scared at times but Myles and later Mom held him close. Later Rufus had a problem with his pump site falling out but we fixed him right up. Liza, Myles and Rufus all had in-range numbers today, even during the night!
This morning Rufus was busy helping us shop and do errands. Then we drove to Grandma Egan's house and took her out for a little drive to see the beautiful fall foliage. What a gorgeous sunny, warm day, nearly 75 degrees. We bought apples and had fun. After that we picked up Michael at college to come home for an overnight visit. Michael is Liza and Myles' older brother. His birthday is tomorrow but we had the cake tonight at his request. Rufus enjoyed a piece too!
10pm Rufus, Liza and Myles went to bed late tonight but blood sugars all fine. 3am Rufus and Myles had fine blood sugars, but Liza was 256 so she had a correction bolus and was fine by breakfast.
Rufus, Liza, Myles, and our dog Willy posed for pictures on our front porch among lots of pumpkins. After Mass, we took Michael and his girlfriend Erin out to lunch for his birthday. Michael is 19 today! We all sang Happy Birthday to him in the restaurant. The rest of the day rained so we stayed inside and read or played computer or video games. Rufus took a nap as well. No out-of-the-ordinary blood sugars to report today. It was a pretty average day.
Rufus goes to school! Rufus went to school with Myles today. Mrs. Cycz, the 4th grade teacher was finishing up a unit on the human body. Rufus already knew a lot about the pancreas but he now also knows about the heart and lungs too! Rufus also learned how to play chess during free time. Myles told the class all about Rufus and his journey. Rufus also met Lisa the school nurse, and she was so happy to meet him. Everyone was delighted to meet him!
We added an American flag pin to Rufus' growing collection of pins. It is now time to move on! We will miss you, Rufus!
