The Carberry Family, Natick, Massachusetts
It was a great surprise to hear that Rufus was finally on his way! He had a great time here with us in Massachusetts. He went with Alissa to an Irish Step Dancing class, on a junior youth group overnight, and spent a day at Kennedy Middle School. He also went to Andrea's soccer game to cheer on her team, Natick Thunder.
Last week Rufus and Alissa went to Andrea's fourth grade class at Brown Elementary School to introduce himself, tell of his travels, and talk about diabetes. It was especially poignant for us, as Alissa was diagnosed about one month befor entering fourth grade. The kids enjoyed meeting Rufus and hearing about all the places he has been. They also were fascinated to learn about diabetes and see how Alissa's pump works.
Thanks for visiting with us Rufus. You're off to Indiana to the Brach family!
The Carberry Family - Jim, Margie, Alissa age 12, diagnosed 7/99 pumping since June, and Andrea age 9
