The Hall Family, North Scituate, Rhode Island

Rufus arrived at the Hall home today. Harry Hall IV was so happy his smile hurt. The very first t hing Harry did was look at all the key chains and plan the key chain he was going to put on. He decided on the Hall's Garage key chain from Daddy's business. Then, of course, we had to go through all of Rufus' belongings. He giggled the whole time. Then outside they went to ride the tractor. Rufus sat in the seat and Harry pushed him all over the yard. I do believe Rufus had fun! Then it was time for Rufus to meet Minnie! Minnie is Harry's new puppy! She is a 3 month old Yorkie that Harry received for his 1 year anniversary for living well with Diabetes. All went well for the first day. Harry and Rufus are tucked in tight in bed, very excited about show and tell at school in the morning.

Rufus went to 1st grade today. He really enjoyed his day. He got to meet Harry's classmates, teacher, and his nurse. He had great fun on Harry's best part of the day, the busride! Harry has taken good care of his new friend! But he is already dreading the day that Rufus has to leave.
April 9, 2002
Rufus stayed home while Harry went to school today. Bus as soon as Harry was home from the school, the two pals were outside having a great time enjoying the spring air. They wore themselves out and fell asleep rather quickly tonight, all snuggled up together.

More school for Harry, but Rufus waited patiently for him to come home. Rufus and Harry enjoyed dinner and a movie.
April 11, 2002
Rufus got to meet Harry's grandparents tonight. They were really impressed at how Harry took such good care of his friend, Rufus.
April 12, 2002
Harry went to a Young Authors celebration at school tonight. Rufus stayed and waited for Harry to return home and they played a game together before bed.
April 13, 2002
Oh boy, Saturday! We have been waiting for this all week. Games, movies, tractor rides, bike rides, and more. Rufus even got to see Harry's treehouse today. They should both sleep well tonight.
April 14, 2002
Sunday, this is almost as good as Saturday! We had some family fun! Even Daddy was home to spend the day.
April 15, 2002
First day of April Vacation, we went to a Pawtucket Red Sox game with the boy scout pack. Harry got to go out onto the field for the opening ceremony. He was on TV and got the royal treatment. What a day!
April 16, 2002
Harry had his girlfriend over and they had a pretend sleepover. Her name is Jillian and she loved Rufus. They all watched a movie and played together.
April 17, 2002
Harry's aunt and cousins came over today. They got to meet Rufus for the first time. They were impressed! They really like how Harry takes care of himself and Rufus! They had fun running under the sprinkler and had a water gun fight. It was cool, wet fun! Harry had a bowling boy scout meeting tonight. He really enjoyed that. His sugars are starting to run high. It was 90 degrees today. I wonder if that had anything to do with it? I don't know. Will I ever know?
April 18, 2002
We had friends over today; they went swimming in the pool and ran under the sprinkler. Harry was tired today. I think that maybe we have done too much over the vacation. We will take it easy tomorrow. We will prepare to say goodbye to Rufus. We will pack up his things tonight and have one last evening with him.
