Rufus arrived while mom was at my school. Mom wanted to make sure all the teachers knew about diabetes. She will be surprised when she gets home. Rufus went out bike riding with me. He thought ramping was too scary so my friend Valerie held Rufus. Mom came home and we showed her Rufus. Mom wanted Rufus to stay in the house with her, but he was having so much fun outside, besides, I think Rufus has a crush on Valerie. We didn't do much except watch T.V. tonight. The two Rufuses and me sat in my bean bag chair and watched movies.

Today was the first day of school. We had blood sugars of 400 when we woke up. Rufus and I took a little extra Humalog. Mom took Rufus to work with her today. He went to product demonstrations and G.E. gave Rufus a lighted, world key chain to hook to his back pack. This way Rufus can light his way around the world. Mom said lots of people stopped by her desk to meet the traveling bear. It was a great chance to tell people about diabetes. Rufus decided he didn't want a credit card from mom's work. The interest rate was too high.

Rufus is a cat riding bear! My brother Jon and I strapped Rufus to Jelly, our cat. Jelly ran around the living room and Rufus bounced all over. Mom made us take Rufus off because our cat was getting mad. I thought it was funny.

I did a class presentation about diabetes today. The kids gasped when they saw all my needles taped together. Channel 10 was there to tape and we were on the news two times. Channel 33 came and did an interview at my house. The story was short, like on the other channel.

The newspaper decided they weren't going to do a story today, but that is ok. We will take pictures and do a story at another time.

Rufus and I went to my neighbor's. He takes pictures for magazines and shoots commercials. We had a bunch of pictures taken. I can't wait until mom gets them developed. We are boxing Rufus up now it is time for Rufus to go to the next family. Bye Rufus, I will miss you.
