The Nieman Family, Clarkston, Michigan
June - July 2003
Hi! My name is Jessica and I was diagnosed with diabetes on March 11, 2002. My mom noticed I was going to the bathroom a lot and always thirsty. My mom had a real hard time. She cried a lot. I've com a long way since then.
I was very excited to learn that Rufus was going to visit me. I already own Ruby and I love her. I now want a Rufus bear of my own. I've had Rufus a long time because my mom is so busy. I really didn't mind, though - neither did my Ruby.
I took Rufus to school with me and showed him to my friends. They all like him. Rufus has traveled up north to our cottage and has been on our boat. I took him to Florida, too.
I'm going to miss you, Rufus, and I hope that the next person you go to enjoys you as much as I have. You will be leaving my Clarkston, Michigan home, but you will always remain in my heart! Have fun on your travels!
