Support Groups in Washington State
- A support group for "caregivers" of children with diabetes meets in Sequim, Washington on the last Monday of every month at 7:00 pm at the Sequim Senior Center to share. This group is small but growing. Anyone with questions is welcome to call Ann Harman at (360) 681-8563 or send e-mail to annie@olypen.com.
- There is a support group in the greater Seattle area called SKWIDDS (Super Kids With Insulin Dependent Diabetes). It is made up of families of children with Type 1 diabetes who would like to connect with other families in the area. We have several large family events during the year, and also have smaller support meeting for parents. To join SKWIDDS, and to get on our mailing list, contact Kim Klaffky at kim@lakere.com.
- South Sound Diabetes Support Group – Tacoma
Tacoma area support group for families who have children with by type 1 diabetes. Children are welcome to attend – activities provided. Contact: Pam Amann (parent) at 253-761-2757 or via email at pamamann@comcast.net. Meetings are every third Thursday from 6:30 – 8 pm.
