Celebrating Siblings

When a family member is diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, that diagnosis affects the entire family.  And for siblings of kids with diabetes, adjusting to life with diabetes in the family can have ups and downs that rival blood sugar graphs on the most rollercoaster days. We checked in with our CWD community to see what they’re thankful for this year: “Thankful for so many things, but this year, I’m especially thankful for diabetes advances/technology.” “I am thankful for you. Your website helped me through my son’s diagnosis 20 years ago and is now helping my son, his wife and […]

Do you have glucagon at school?

There have been some major advancements in glucagon over the last year, and we’re encouraged to see more options for treating hypoglycemia on the horizon. With the availability of newer glucagon options, we’re interested in your experiences – if any – with glucagon use in your child’s school. This glucagon survey was created to find out more about how schools will react to training staff to administer the newer glucagon options. Take the survey!  And if you have other feedback about glucagon administration in schools, please reach out to us.

Diabetes is something that families manage as a team, and the Children With Diabetes community knows the power of family support through and through. This week, we’ve had the opportunity to chat with Jeff and Brenda Hitchcock, and Laura Billetdeaux, about how diabetes has affected – and inspired – […]
