Just two short weeks from those cold Florida mornings cheering on TeamCWD runners for the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, the CWD staff were boarding planes to Anaheim, California for the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend! With around 50 runners representing TeamCWD, we were so excited for another great weekend of cheering on our runners!
On Wednesday, the CWD staff arrived at our Anaheim AirBnB and unpacked our bags for a great team-building weekend with many early mornings ahead of us. Thursday was expo and bib pickup day. As always, the excitement was palpable in the Disneyland Hotel Convention Center as runners from all over the world picked up their race bibs, t-shirts, and other fun runner “swag.” We had the pleasure of meeting up with two of our amazing half marathon runners all the way from Australia! The support for TeamCWD is literally worldwide.
Friday morning, we woke up well before the sun to head to Disneyland to cheer on our runners for the 5K. We found the perfect spot at mile two and had a great time cheering for our runners as they crossed from Disneyland to California Adventure. We had numerous runners recognize our smiley signs, stopping for a selfie!
Saturday was 10K day and Sunday the half marathon; both mornings we would wait at the finish line for our runners to cross. By completing the Disneyland Half Marathon and either the Walt Disney World half or full marathon, many of our runners earned their Coast to Coast Challenge medal… both races ran for TeamCWD and the FFL Scholarship Fund!
We had a great weekend on the West Coast and cannot wait to begin making plans for the 2026 race season. Stay tuned … details to come soon!
