Do you take insulin for your morning coffee?
Sometimes, depending on my blood sugar
No I don't
Should you bolus for coffee? Sure, if you add sugar and creamer, but what about plain black coffee, or coffee with just a no-calorie sweetener?
The science seems to say that you should, because the caffeine in coffee decreases your sensitivity to insulin*, which can cause an increase in blood glucose levels enough to warrant additional insulin.
Among our readers, half say they bolus at least some of the time for coffee, while half do not.
