How often do you change your lancet/lancing device?
There's a (dark humor) sort of joke in the diabetes community about how often we change our lancets ... the answer is usually "never."
And while that's not entirely true, changing lancets is important and something that our community should be doing with each finger prick. (YES, every single one.) That's the gold standard and helps prevent infection.
Our CWD family is changing lancets on the whole about once a week, but the vast majority of poll respondents said that CGM use has replaced finger pricks almost entirely. Continuous glucose monitors are an incredible advancement in diabetes care for several reasons, one of which being the preservation of our fingertips. 🙂
