Diagnosis and Symptoms

My son tested high at a free screening; the doctor did fasting urine and blood draws that were normal, no findings of diabetes, etc. Again, this happened at another free screening. His sugar was 350 again, we made our trip back to the doctor. Again his fasting tests were fine. Four months later, he was hospitalized with diabetes.

I’m a 14 year old girl who has been drinking a lot and needing to urinate almost constantly. When I am training hard, I tend to feel sick and get lightheaded, and sometimes I get really overtired. I’m not sure if have lost any weight, but I know that some of these things are symptoms of diabetes, and I’m probably just being paranoid. Do I have anything to be worried about?

Because my younger daughter was ravenously hungry and constantly eating but not gaining weight, had yeast infections/itching, cold and thirsty, I tested her blood glucose level. She had some high levels, but the doctors say she does not have diabetes. I wonder if she could be in the beginning stage of diabetes during which fasting blood sugar levels are normal.

My wife and I do not believe our daughter has diabetes. She is outwardly healthy, running around, and she has been the happiest she has been in a long time since we recently stopped the insulin injections. What else could be wrong with her? How could it be that if she supposedly had sugar levels of 40 mmol/L [720 mg/dl] she was still running around like any other normal four year old?

My three year old son has type 1 diabetes diagnosed six months ago, and my five year old daughter has had some high blood sugars and an A1c of 6.1%, and negative antibody test. My daughter is thinking she has diabetes now and is completely stressed out I know. Could this be a stress response? Do you suspect I caught it early, and the antibodies have not shown up yet?

My 11 year old son seems to have some of the symptoms of diabetes ((extreme thirst, eating a lot, and urinating a lot), but he is not losing any weight. He recently showed a little blood in his urine, but a urine test came out negative for a urinary tract infection. Now, he has a little spot of blood coming from the penile area, but it is unclear where it is coming from. Could it be related to diabetes at all?

My daughter was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, so we check my son’s blood sugar just to make sure. Every time we’ve checked, it’s been normal, but this morning, after a big breakfast, he complained of not feeling well so sister took his blood sugar, and it was low. Could his low blood sugar reading after having consumed a lot of sugar at breakfast have any meaning?
