Question from Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA:

Last week the son of one of my co-workers was admitted to the hospital with a diagnosis of diabetes. Are there any books that talk about living with diabetes that are suitable for a 6 year old in kindergarten?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

There is a book, Taking Diabetes to School, which you may be able to get from a diabetes educator. This book has been distributed for free over the past year or so by Bayer. It is a nice book for that age. You can also get The Dinosaur Tamer and Other Stories for Children with Diabetes from the American Diabetes Association. This is a book of stories that you could read to a child of six, or an older child could read alone.
