Question from Walthamstow, London, England:

Are there any special nutrients that diabetics need in their diet? If so, what are they?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

A balanced diet is a good plan based on the Food Guide Pyramid. There is some research out there that says that supplemental Vitamins E, C and A could be beneficial. Check with your doctor to see if he or she recommends the inclusion of these nutrients. Other nutrients and minerals have not been studied enough to make recommendations.
