Question from London, Ontario, Canada:

Can diabetic ketoacidosis be caused by continuous binge eating?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

A pertinent question in relation to adolescent diabetes. I know of no definitive research (which would be unethical), but I am practically certain that the answer is no. However, coupled with omission of insulin (extremely common) this would be a common cause of DKA [diabetic ketoacidosis].
