Question from Virginia, USA:
Can leukemia cause your sugar to drop?
Answer:
From: DTeam Staff
Leukemia does not directly cause hypoglycemia, but certain treatments which involve interleukins may alter the white blood cells so that they consume glucose at an increased rate in a blood sample whilst it awaits processing in the laboratory. This induces an artifactual hypoglycemia.
You need to confirm this possibility with the doctor concerned.
