Can type 1 diabetes be caused by a blow to the head or a brain injury?

Type�1 diabetes is an autoimmune-mediated disease with a long prodromic (preclinical) phase and is not secondary to head or brain injuries. These could perhaps act upon the ongoing immune process as final triggers towards the clinical disease though.

MS
