Do you have any anecdotal evidence that consuming diet soda causes bingeing or other unusual eating practices?

No, not really. I do think the caffeine in the drinks and sometimes the other substances leave one more thirsty. One calls for another. Some individuals have sensitivity to caffeine which could present some altered eating behaviors if carried to the extreme.
