Question from Dublin, Ireland:

I am 24 years old, have had type 1 diabetes for 10 years, and I am currently on a sliding scale system of three Actrapid injections before meals and Insulatard at bedtime. What are the recommended postprandial readings half an hour after eating, an hour, and two hours?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

In my practice, we only give patients cutoff values at two hours after eating, and those must not be higher than 180 mg/dl [10 mmol/L].
