Question from Dallas, Texas, USA:

I am currently using an insulin pump with a basal rate of 30 units per hour, plus a 75 unit bolus three times daily, a total of 945 units per 24 hours. What kind of pump would handle this size of a daily intake of insulin?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

The numbers for insulin doses per hour and per day do not make much sense. You should be in close contact with your diabetes team and ask them if you should be in the hospital to sort this all out.
