Justin Delgado is husband to Kacie Doyle-Delgado, diagnosed at age 11. After more than a decade together, he considers himself to be an expert carb counter and Dexcom inserter. He graduated with his Master of Science in Finance from the University of Utah in 2013 and has been working in commercial banking since then. A1c (Glycohemoglobin, HgbA1c)

In your medical opinion, what should the hemoglobin A1c goal be for a child under 2 years of age? He was diagnosed at 10 months and has Type 1 diabetes.
The HbA1c should in theory be aimed at similar levels for any diabetic. However, it is extremely difficult to get this in 2 year olds. I personally feel that, if you can get the HbA1c below 9%, you will be doing really well.
