Question from :

In your medical opinion, what should the hemoglobin A1c goal be for a child under 2 years of age? He was diagnosed at 10 months and has Type 1 diabetes.

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

The HbA1c should in theory be aimed at similar levels for any diabetic. However, it is extremely difficult to get this in 2 year olds. I personally feel that, if you can get the HbA1c below 9%, you will be doing really well.
