Is it possible for a person with type 1 diabetes to obtain a commercial helicopter pilots license?

We asked Douglas Cairns of Diabetes World Flight to answer this question:
I don’t think this is possible, in the same way that for “fixed wing” aircraft we cannot do so. Technically you can obtain the license itself, but cannot get a medical qualification to exercise the privileges of commercial flying.
