My 20 year old was just diagnosed in several months ago with Type 1 diabetes. He is planning a trip to Cancun in a month with friends. What documentation should he take with him so that he can travel safely with his needles and medicine?

Travel with diabetes is generally pretty easy — take plenty of supplies and don’t let them out of your hands. Have prescriptions for everything, especially anything that could be interpreted as illegal. Pay attention to management and all should be fine.
