Question from Montreal, Quebec, Canada:

My mom has been diagnosed with borderline diabetes. What kind of fruits can she eat, and what kind she cannot eat?

Answer:

From: DTeam Staff

Your mom needs to see a dietitian who can advise her on intake of all foods, including fruits. Any fruit is acceptable, but the amount indicated in the meal plan will vary, as for example, only 2 tablespoons of raisins, but 1 cup of strawberries. A dietitian can individualize her meal plan to include the foods desired.
